Mental Health Diversion Court (MHD)
The Sonoma County Mental Health Diversion Court (MHD) program is a specialized court designed for individuals arrested in Sonoma County that have mental health issues, need treatment (and/or other services), and choose to agree to participate in the Court program instead of having their cases proceed in the regular court process. MHD operates in accordance with Penal Code section 1001.36.
