1. PETITION OF MICHELLE DAY 25CV06902 |

The Court finds that Petitioner Michelle Day has complied with all prerequisites outlined under California Code of Civil procedure (“C.C.P.”) §1277.5 for a Petition for Change of Name. The Court finds that no timely objection has been filed against said Petition. Therefore, the Court now GRANTS the Petitioner’s Decree Changing Name of “Stefan Ray Christensen” to “Stefan Ray Day”. |
2. PETITION OF CLARENCE LUA 25CV06953 |
TENTATIVE RULING: No Appearance is Required. The Court finds that Petitioner Clarence Panihau Lua has complied with all prerequisites outlined under California Code of Civil procedure (“C.C.P.”) §1277.5 for a Petition for Change of Name. The Court finds that no timely objection has been filed against said Petition. Therefore, the Court now GRANTS the Petitioner’s Decree Changing Name of “Clarence Panihau Lua” to “Panihau Cupid Lua”. |
3. PETITION OF CORY LACEY 25CV06960 |
TENTATIVE RULING: Matter is continued to February 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in Department 19 to allow Petitioner Cory Lacy time to properly comply with California Code of Civil procedure (“C.C.P.”) §1277 (a)(1) which requires that the Order to Show (“OSC”) list the complete present name and the proposed name of the person whom is requesting a name change. Here, the Petition was filed by Cory Lacy, however, this document then lists the “present name” as “Cory Michael Lacey.” The Proof of Publication only lists “Cory Lacy” instead of “Cory Michael Lacy.” The purpose of the publication is to provide proper notice to the general public of the name change, which was not accomplished in this instance. Petitioner is provided sufficient time to cure and properly comply with this requirement. |
4. PETITION OF LISA BERETTA 25CV07152 |
TENTATIVE RULING: Matter is continued to February 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in Department 19 to allow petitioner time to file proof that a copy of the Order to Show Cause was published in a local newspaper as required by Code of Civil Procedure section 1277(a)(2). Petitioner must obtain an amended OSC with the new hearing date for purposes of publication. If petitioner has proper proof of publication, they may file it with the court and request to appear at the hearing; if the Court is satisfied publication was proper, and no objection is raised, this matter will be approved. |
