 Change of Name or Gender

1.         PETITION OF MARYLOU COOPER

            25CV06688

TENTATIVE RULING: The Petition is DENIED without prejudice. Petitioner Marylou Cooper signed and filed the present Petition seeking a name change. However, the application identifies petitioner’s present name as “Marylou Cruz.” (Petition Secs. 2, 7). The Petition is then signed by Cooper in the 2nd page. In this instance, the Petitioner’s name and the “present name” should match. The Petition provides some explanation as to other surnames but not Cooper. Due to the confusion on Petitioner’s identity in the Petition itself, it must be denied.

2.         PETITION OF JULITZA SUMPANGO

            25CV07934

TENTATIVE RULING: No Appearance is Required. The Court finds that Petitioner Julitza Sumpango has complied with all prerequisites outlined under California Code of Civil procedure (“C.C.P.”) §1277.5 for a Petition for Change of Name. The Court finds that no timely objection has been filed against said Petition. Therefore, the Court now GRANTS the Petitioners’ Decree Changing Name of “Julitza Sumpango” to “Julitza Sumpango Martinez”.
